Discover the Best Unlimited eSIM Deal for Your Travels: My Holafly Experience
When it comes to traveling, the last thing you want to worry about is running out of data or being hit with unexpected charges.
As a frequent traveler, I'm always on the hunt for the best eSIM deal, and I think I’ve finally found an excellent one with Holafly. Let me walk you through my experience and why Holafly might be the perfect solution for your next trip.
Why You Need an Unlimited Data eSIM
Whether you’re checking maps, replying to emails, or simply trying to stay connected, an unlimited data plan is a must. You don’t want to stress about data limits or face the surprise of overage fees. When Holafly reached out and asked if I wanted to test their service, I jumped at the opportunity. I’ve used many eSIMs before, so I was eager to see how their "unlimited" plan would stack up.

What Is Holafly and How Does It Work?
Holafly is an eSIM provider that partners with local mobile networks in over 200 destinations to offer data services. Essentially, they lease bandwidth from these networks and sell it to you via an eSIM. This means you get access to the same speeds and coverage as locals, which can be a significant advantage, especially in regions with spotty coverage.
Holafly offers a range of plans, including regional eSIMs that cover multiple countries and even a new World eSIM for those longer, multi-destination trips. For Europe and North America, you can enjoy unlimited data for durations ranging from 5 to 90 days. This flexibility is perfect for travelers with varying needs. They have 152 Destinations with unlimited data and 81 Destinations with customizable day plans (at time of publication), such as 6GB for 15 days.
My Experience Using Holafly in New Zealand
To put Holafly to the test, I used their unlimited data eSIM during a 10-day period around the Wellington region in New Zealand. Despite the country’s notorious patchy mobile coverage, Holafly performed exceptionally well. I mostly experienced LTE/4G speeds, with occasional dips to 3G — but no noticeable slowdowns or throttling, even during peak usage times.
Google Maps, Apple Maps, and all my essential apps worked flawlessly. I could send photos and videos via iMessage without any hiccups, and my social media updates were as speedy as ever. Even in areas where coverage is typically unreliable, Holafly kept me connected as well as the local network would.
The Verdict: Is Holafly Worth It?
After 10 days of consistent performance, I can confidently say that Holafly exceeded my expectations. The peace of mind that comes with unlimited data, coupled with reliable 24/7 customer service, makes Holafly an excellent choice for travelers. While it may be pricier than other brands, the value lies in its no-hassle, unlimited plan and highly rated support.
A Few Caveats
While Holafly’s unlimited data plans are a great deal, their fixed data plans in certain countries might not be as appealing, especially if you’re a heavy data user. For most destinations, the unlimited plan provides unbeatable value, with no stress thinking about whether you’re about to bust your limits. But, it’s also worth noting that tethering is limited to 500MB per day, which is fine for light use but might not suit remote workers. Having said that, 142 Destinations have hotspot capabilities (including 109 with unlimited data!)
Final Thoughts: The Best eSIM for Worry-Free Travel
If you’re planning your next adventure and want an affordable, stress-free international data plan, Holafly is a solid choice. With their unlimited data, you can focus on enjoying your trip rather than obsessing over data limits. I’ll be testing Holafly in other countries like China, the UK, and Portugal soon, so stay tuned for more insights.
